Wow! Two events during Nurses Week! Yes. So many applicants had financial needs last year so I brainstormed and asked "why NOT have additional fundraisers. And I hate to just do one fundraiser and then feel like we are running dry financially until November when the next graduation classes come out looking for funds ..Our "WALK" is a given, but a dinner? I started thinking that if I could find a like-minded organization that wanted to work together, why not? And we found kindred spirits in our local Italian American Foundation which not only wanted to bring back scholarships to students but also could help us defray expenses with a chef, room rental, food, etc. Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. So not only do we have a Walk planned for this weekend, May 5th but we even have a Scholarship Spaghetti Dinner planned for Saturday, May 11th (yes, the day BEFORE Mother's Day) where for just a couple short hours, we could make money for our applicants as well as theirs. Â
SOOO... if you happen to be in SWFL Mother's Day Weekend...please purchase your tickets before May 8th so we can get you some meatballs and .... AND have a fun couple of hours with us and hear from Nurses-to-be why they appreciate our donors and what it means to them to receive financial assistance at the end of their schooling for their State Boards. We are going to have some fun and if you happen to bring a Nurse, retired or working, we want to celebrate them! PS: This week, to date, we have paid out $20,000.00 in scholarships since our inception in July of 2021. ALL from donations...and an all-volunteer Board!
