Collier-Lee Counties Honor Flight

Saturday evening, April 31st was the first time in 2 years that Collier-Lee Counties Honor Flight organizers were able to transport veterans and their guardians to and from Washington DC. due to Covid.

The veterans left in the wee hours of that morning and returned at 8:45pm traveling on American Airlines. While in Washington they were able to tour the various monuments and memorials and then they were whisked back on a plane to return to RSW Airport in Fort Myers. Waiting for them to return and giving them the welcome that some never had were undreds of people who turned out from various towns and neighborhoods in the Lee and Collier counties area.

Members of local groups like VFW, DAV, members of Law Enforcement motorcycle groups made up of veterans and neighbors. friends and family members turned out to welcome them back and thank them for their service. Sampson’s attendees y were Linda F Hill, Founder; Barbara Belkoff, President; and Patricia Pruss, Service Secretary.
