SAMPSON’S INTERNATIONAL NURSING SOCIETY, Inc. will sponsor “A Walk in My Shoes” on Saturday, May 7th at 8 am. The nonprofit, located in Naples, will head off Nurses Week which runs thru the following Saturday, May 12th. This date is the the birthday anniversary of Florence Nightingale. She was the English nurse and “Lady of the Lamp” who founded the key pillars of modern nursing. This event will honor those nurses who lost their lives during the 2019 Pandemic. It is meant to mirror a similar event being held in Washington, DC. Walkers can register for $20 and be able to walk in memory of a nurse or walk in honor of a nurse. Funds raised will be added to the coffers of the organization for student nurses’ scholarship grants. A Tribute Service by members of the Society will start the event.
